Addiction can wreak havoc on an individual physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Similarly, the process of stopping the use of drugs and alcohol can be difficult on an individual physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It is also a difficult process for the family members or loved ones trying to help the person suffering from addiction. The physical pain and discomfort and emotional and mental suffering can often be unbearable, which is why oftentimes, addiction detox is necessary to kick-start the recovery process to build a solid foundation.
