Here at Innovo Detox, we understand the fear and trepidation that most callers experience when picking up the phone and calling a detox, rehab, or addiction treatment center. There is an old saying that goes “no one goes to treatment on a winning streak” and we understand the crisis that most individuals and families are facing when calling us for help. Often there are years of trauma, distress and hopelessness that proceed that call, or perhaps there is frustration, despair, and sadness because it is not the first time that they have called a detox in need of help. The caller may have been caught in the grips of addiction for many years, or their family may be calling after their loved one has relapsed again after one of many treatment experiences or attempts at recovery.
We want you to know that we understand, and we are here to help. While many rehabs or treatment centers have call centers that answer incoming calls in an attempt to quickly “qualify” the caller in terms of their appropriateness and insurance, we believe that our admissions team is an integral part of our entire treatment team, so the experience a caller receives with one of our admissions specialists is the same high quality that they will receive from our medical, clinical, or recovery support team. Therefore, our admissions team at Innovo Detox is located in-house, at our facility, working together with the leadership, medical, clinical, and recovery support team. They are well-versed in both explaining our program but also the clinical needs of the potential patient so that if a caller needs a different facility or service, they are able to work with our medical and clinical team to provide a proper suggestion. Our belief is that the primary purpose of the admissions team at the treatment center is not to ensure that a caller admits to their facility, but rather to genuinely listen to the potential patient or family, assess the potential patient’s clinical and financial needs, and ensure they get the best help for their situation, regardless of where that help will come from.
We believe that the first experience a potential patient or family member has with a detox, rehab, or treatment center comes from their very first contact with admissions, and we want to ensure that our admissions staff offers a compassionate, informed, supportive experience for every person that calls into Innovo Detox.

Debby MacNeil, CADC
Director of Admissions
Debby and her team are the first people that an individual speaks with when calling Innovo Detox for themselves, a family member, or a loved one. Debby was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, dealt with her own issues surrounding addiction, and found recovery in 2011. She has worked in the addiction treatment space for many years, first as a long-time employee at a rehab in South Florida where she found sobriety, before returning home to Pennsylvania as one of Innovo Detox’s first employees. She is a Pennsylvania Board Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor is a specifically trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT.) She says “I feel grateful that I can be trusted by the people that call us who are seeking help in their darkest hours. Addiction takes people and families to difficult places, so I always believe it is important that our entire admissions team offers them the highest amount of respect, compassion, and dignity. Doing that for people seeking treatment goes a long way in helping them to start their journey of recovery.” Although born and raised in Pennsylvania, Debby considers herself a diehard Baltimore Ravens fan.
Brittany Gardner
Admissions Specialist
Brittany has worked in the field of addiction treatment and behavioral healthcare for over seven years. “I chose to work in the drug and alcohol treatment field for many reasons,” Brittany explains. “One of the main reasons is because I have loved ones who struggled with addiction and had trouble finding the help they needed. I wanted to be able to help others who are struggling with addiction find hope and recovery.” Brittany feels one of the most rewarding parts of her job in admissions at Innovo Detox is being able to see the change in patients mentally and physically within their short stay in detox. “My favorite part about my job is being the first person to provide peace and hope to someone who is scared and suffering,” she said. “I also really enjoy making alumni follow up calls and being able to check in on our past patients. It is such an incredible feeling, hearing about their progress and how they have continued to maintain their sobriety.”
Meghan Semler
Admissions Specialist
Meghan is an admissions specialist at Innovo Detox who received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Millersville University. She made the decision to work in the addiction treatment and behavioral healthcare field because she has a passion for helping others. “I find the treatment field interesting,” she said, and she likes to be the first voice a potential patient or their family hears who may be nervous about the detox and treatment experience or having trepidation about receiving help for their addiction. For Meghan, “the most rewarding part of working in admissions is comforting people who are apprehensive about going into treatment and giving them hope that they can lead a better life.”
Zea Robertson
Admissions Specialist
Zea is the newest member of our admissions team here at Innovo Detox. Previously, she had worked in the addiction treatment space as a behavioral health technician in a rehab. Zea has a passion for working in a field to help people, many of whom general society deems “undeserving of help.” She said, “I am in recovery and I’m grateful to have had someone give me the chances and the direction I needed in the darkest periods of my life” and Zea now enjoys being able to give prospective patients and family members similar opportunities when they call in looking for help. “The most rewarding part of working in admissions is being able to see the transition from the patient’s intake to their discharge,” she explained. “It is amazing to see what just a week’s time can do for someone’s outlook and excitement for life.”
