We are excited to welcome Matt McGirr to the Innovo Detox team as our new Community Liaison! Matt joins the Innovo Detox outreach team and will focusing on creating, building, and managing relationships with hospitals, healthcare systems, local providers, warm handoff groups, and community organizations located in the surrounding local Pennsylvania counties to our treatment facility. Additionally, he will look to be a trusted resource in the local Pennsylvania area as assist any individual or family impacted by addiction, substance use disorder, or co-occurring mental health disorders.

Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Public Policy from Penn State University and is a military veteran as a member of the United States Navy. Before joining the behavioral healthcare and addiction treatment field, he spent many years working in safety, transportations and logistics. Recently however, Matt was called to help others in behavioral healthcare. Over the last two years, he worked as Housing Coordinator for a local Recovery Community Organization (RCO) based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania that offered recovery support, housing, and community-based recovery services and resources. In his role, Matt oversaw the operations for two local Central Pennsylvania recovery houses or sober homes, located in the local York, Pennsylvania and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania area. Additionally, he provided direct care to clients through case management services, intakes, state certification, and compliance.
As Innovo Detox’s new Community Liaison, Matt’s focus will be on bringing awareness and education of the addiction and mental health treatment services offered at the facility to the local community, with a specific focus on York County, Pennsylvania and Adams County, Pennsylvania. Matt will look to create strategic relationships to support local hospitals, healthcare systems, intensive outpatient treatment programs (IOPs), sober homes and recovery houses, warm handoff organizations, and other community-based and non-profit organizations and those in need that they serve. Additionally, Matt will be a trusted resource within the community, and help Innovo Detox support local community initiatives that look to break the stigma of addiction, bring awareness to addiction and mental health issues and resources, and support local community outreach events.
