We are excited to announce the addition of Dee Dee Brody to the Innovo Detox staff as our new Continuing Care Coordinator. Dee Dee will join Mike Kessler, Director of Continuing Care at Innovo Detox, to provide comprehensive case management and aftercare planning services for patients to ensure the next steps in their treatment and recovery journey.

Dee Dee joins Innovo Detox will a vast experience working within the healthcare field. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Operations Specialist, she initially joined the medical field after discharge as a Case Management Nurse, working for a large hospital system in central Pennsylvania. In that role, she demonstrated much of the responsibilities that will make her uniquely qualified in her new role at Innovo Detox, including coordinating patient discharge planning with a multidisciplinary team, acting as a patient advocate for high acuity patients, and collaborating with the patient, medical and clinical teams, family members, insurance companies, and other professionals.

“I am so excited to be a part of the Innovo Detox team,” said Dee Dee. “Working with Mike Kessler as a member of the continuing care team, I am very much looking forward to helping our patients along their journey and play a small part in their recovery overcoming addiction.”

Throughout her career in the healthcare field, Dee Dee worked at several hospitals and large healthcare systems in various roles, including as a staff nurse, referral specialist, authorization specialist, and patient registrar, including time at well-known Pennsylvania healthcare organizations Wellspan Health, UPMC Pinnacle, and OSS Health. These different roles have prepared her to offer the highest quality of patient care and support now at Innovo Detox, to aid patients in the next steps in their treatment continuum and personal journey of sobriety and recovery.

“We are very excited to have Dee Dee join the continuing care team here at Innovo Detox,” explained Mike Kessler, Director of Continuing Care. “Combining her passion for helping those suffering from addiction find recovery and her background in the medical field, she will absolutely bring a unique perspective and effective approach to the way we treat our patients. Her personal touch will be an asset to the patients, their families, and the professionals and treatment centers we work with.”

Detox is, and should always be, the first step in a long-term treatment continuum. Patients here at Innovo Detox, once through withdrawals and achieving both physical and emotional stabilization, move on to different treatment and recovery support aftercare options, including residential treatment, inpatient rehab, extended care, outpatient treatment such as a partial hospitalization (PHP) or intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment program, sober living, recovery housing, or individual therapy, counseling, or psychiatry.  Each patient’s needs are different, and each aftercare plan must be customized to meet the needs of that individual patient. Dee Dee, working alongside Mike Kessler in the continuing care department here at Innovo Detox, will work with the admissions, medical, and clinical teams to create the best possible aftercare plan for each patient, and help guide the patient into engaging in a long-term treatment continuum to make sure that they are set up for their best chance of success in sobriety and recovery.
