We are excited to announce the addition of Julie Vance, CRNP, to the Innovo Detox staff as a new Nurse Practitioner. Julie will join our medical team, consisting of Medical Director and psychiatrist Dr. Alok Saharan, M.D, Director of Nursing Leah Christman, RN, Nurse Practitioner Philip Walters, CRNP, and our nursing staff of registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) in delivering the highest quality of comprehensive medical care for our patients in detox, extended medical stabilization, and addiction treatment.
Julie was in school as a nursing student at Bowling Green State University and Ohio State University, before becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. She then went on receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating Cum Laude, from York College of Pennsylvania in 1995 and then receiving her Master of Science in Nursing from Milllersville University in Millersville, Pennsylvania in 2010.
She has worked in the medical field since 1996 as a nurse, delivering medical care to patients in hospital settings and in medical center environments. Julie has also worked as a nurse in healthcare group practices, express care settings, medical clinics, and in hospice care. Bringing a caring and compassionate approach to patient care, Julie will be a valuable addition to the Innovo Detox staff and, specifically, our medical team.
In addition to her experience in the healthcare and medical field as a nurse and a nurse practitioner, Julie is a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve/Pennsylvania Army National Guard. During her time serving, she was commissioned as an Army Nurse.
Julie’s experience and expertise will be beneficial to the care delivered to all patients being treated for addiction, substance use disorder, and co-occurring mental health disorders at Innovo Detox. Having a caring and supportive nursing staff is vital in delivering comprehensive care, and Innovo Detox patients consistently appreciate the care and support they receive from our nursing staff, regularly shouting out their experiences during patient surveys and testimonials. Julie’s addition to the medical staff will only elevate that care and continue to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of services when coming to Innovo Detox for detox, withdrawal management, extended medical stabilization, and addiction treatment services.
